Area(s) of practice

FRED WENNERHOLM works primarily with national and international business disputes. He is consulted both as counsel and arbitrator and has several decades of experience in legal proceedings both in civil courts and arbitration tribunals. Fred has vast experience in the SCC, the ICC and Uncitral arbitration regulations. For the past few years, he has acted as chairman as well as counsel in a number of international cases within the area of investment protection according to different investment protection agreements (bilateral, so-called BITs and multilateral, ECT). Head of Setterwalls' Public International Law group, SILEIG, created in 2002 to advise on Bilateral Investment Treaties, BITS, the Energy Charter Treaty, ECT and other issues relating to investment protection, energy and public international law. Has acted as counsel for governments as well as investors in investment protection disputes.

In addition to his activities in the field of International Law Fred has a long and extensive practice in the administration of property within trusts and foundations or through testamentary dispositions.
